Eat More Fish and Make Your Cellulite Vanish

Mixing in some fish in your diet can benefit you in more ways than one, including helping you to get rid of cellulite because of the oils they contain. if you don’t want to eat fish, you can also take fish oil supplements to help strengthen your skin cells and reduce the cellulite appearance.

So, what kind of fish are we talking about here?

The fresh kind is always the best. Those of you who live near an ocean shore will no doubt have an easier time getting fresh fish but even if you live far inland, you can count on at least a handful of fish markets in your area to provide exactly what you will need.

When buying whole fish, the two telltale signs of freshness are:

  1. They should have clear, bright eyes instead of dull and grayish ones. If the eyes are cloudy, it means the fish has probably been frozen for quite a while and is not that fresh.
  2. They shouldn’t smell overly fishy. This can indicate the fish is well past its consumption date and may even signal poor food handling by someone at some point. No matter how you cook it, if it smells fishy, you can’t improve the smell and you are risking a tummy ache or even worse, food poisoning!

When you are buying fillets, the biggest thing you should worry about is if it has a fishy smell or if the flesh has a milky or slimy paste on it. This means the fish has begun to rot!

I usually fry my fish in a skillet with olive oil using a little bit of salt and pepper as seasoning. I toss in some green beans or asparagus and I’m set. However, when I want to splurge, here is my favorite fish recipe. It’s a beer batter fried fish recipe that tastes better than any fish I have ever tried:

  • 1 cup of all purpose flour
  • 2 pounds of fish fillets (cut into 2 to 3 inch chunks)
  • 3/4 cup Busch Beer
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 quarts of vegetable oil for your deep fryer
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried dillweed
  • 2 lemons cut into wedges

Directions: Heat your deep fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix the flour, milk, beer, eggs, baking powder, dried dillweed, and salt in a mixing bowl. The thicker the batter, the more breading it will have when it comes out of the fryer so I like the batter to have a less thick texture. This gives me a lightly breaded fish. Place your fish fillet chunks in the batter for 15 minutes, then cook them until they are golden brown (approximately 4-5 minutes).

Place the cooked fish on a large plate with paper towels to soak up extra oil. Then put them on individual plates and squeeze a little lemon juice over them. They go great with potato chips!
